Ciara and Russell Wilson are expanding their family once again, announcing that they are expecting their fifth child – and their fourth together.
The couple shared the news on Sunday, 6 September, with Ciara showing off her growing baby bump in a series of photographs and videos shared on social media. Their announcement was captioned: “One more person to Love 🖐🏽🥺🖤.”
‘Baby Cinco’ is on the way
The announcement comes after years of Wilson openly joking about wanting another child. The NFL star had previously referred to a potential fifth child as “Cinco”, Spanish for five, making the nickname particularly fitting now that the couple are expecting again.
In their announcement, the family appeared to embrace the playful theme. Ciara was photographed alongside a clothesline displaying shirts with the names of the couple’s children, while a blank baby onesie represented the newest member of the family whose name has not yet been revealed.
A growing Wilson family
The new baby will join four siblings – Future Zahir, Sienna Princess, Win Harrison and Amora Princess.
Ciara welcomed her first child, son Future, in 2014 during her relationship with rapper Future. She later married Wilson in July 2016, and the couple welcomed daughter Sienna in 2017, son Win in 2020 and daughter Amora in December 2023.
The pregnancy therefore marks Ciara’s fifth child overall, while it will be Wilson’s fourth child with the singer.
Wilson has wanted another child
The latest pregnancy is also the realisation of a wish Wilson has spoken about publicly.
After the birth of Amora in 2023, Wilson had already expressed his interest in having another child, while Ciara jokingly indicated that she needed some time before expanding their family again. His continued enthusiasm for “Cinco” has since become something of a running theme around the couple’s family life.
Now, that wish has become reality.
From marriage to a blended family
Ciara and Wilson began dating in 2015 before becoming engaged in March 2016. They married in July that year and have since built a highly visible blended family.
Ciara’s eldest son, Future, has also grown up alongside Wilson’s three biological children with Ciara, with the couple frequently sharing glimpses of their family life with fans.
Their relationship has also extended beyond music and sport. Together, they have worked on children’s entertainment and business projects, including their Why Not You? children’s book, while both have continued developing their individual careers.
Motherhood alongside a music career
The pregnancy comes as Ciara continues to balance motherhood with her career as a singer, performer and businesswoman.
The “1, 2 Step” hitmaker has previously spoken about the experience of bringing her children into her professional world, including travelling with them while on tour. Her growing family has remained a prominent part of her public life, with the singer regularly sharing family milestones with her millions of followers.
For now, the biggest question surrounding the newest Wilson family member is the name.
