Thembinkosi “TK” Nciza appears to have found a new spring in his step, with the music executive and businessman reportedly enjoying a blossoming romance with Layla Moreki.
According to a close acquaintance, the couple recently travelled to Barcelona, where they have been enjoying time together away and TK went all out to spoil his new partner during a recent trip to Turkey, where he is said to have paid for her veneers, liposuction and Brazilian butt lift (BBL).
TK’s latest chapter comes after his split from Lebo Phasha, whom he had dated for a few years. The ex-lovers had reportedly completed lobola proceedings and were preparing to marry before their relationship ended in 2024. Following the split, TK was spotted with someone who appeared to be a new romantic interest, with a source at the time saying they “seemed cosy enough to be dating”.
The reports of his love life come several years after TK’s high-profile marriage to Mafikizolo star Nhlanhla Mafu came to an end.
TK and Nhlanhla were married in 2004 and their relationship lasted almost 15 years before they announced in June 2019 that they had decided to end their marriage. Nhlanhla described the decision at the time as “tough but amicable”, saying the pair remained grateful for the support they had given each other over the years while raising their children.
The former couple share children, including their son Nkululeko “Ciza” Nciza, who has carved out his own identity in the music industry. Ciza has been building an impressive career as a singer, songwriter and DJ, with his music gaining attention beyond South Africa. His success, particularly with his hit “Isaka (6am)”, has also been a source of immense pride for his father.
While TK’s previous relationship was played out under intense public scrutiny, those close to him say his latest chapter feels very different.
“He is head over heels in love. He is happier and more peaceful than he has been in a long time,” a source close to TK says.
According to the source, TK has also been making a conscious effort to prioritise himself, focusing on his health, mental wellness and his overall quality of life.
“He is taking care of himself and really enjoying life. There is a different energy about him. He is more intentional about his health, his mental wellness and the people he allows into his space.”
The source says TK is also grateful to see his children doing well, particularly Ciza, whose career continues to grow locally and internationally.
“With Ciza thriving both locally and internationally, he has so much to be grateful for. He is in a very good space in his life and Layla seems to be part of that happiness.”
TK has largely kept his romantic life away from the public eye in recent years, although he has previously been linked to other relationships following his divorce. In December 2022, reports emerged that he had become engaged, underscoring that he had continued to move forward with his personal life after the end of his marriage.
Now, however, it appears the music heavyweight is embracing a new chapter with Layla, with their Barcelona getaway offering a glimpse into a relationship that seems to be bringing him plenty of joy.
For a man who has spent much of his life in the public eye, surrounded by the pressures of music, business and politics, those close to him say this chapter is less about proving anything to anyone and more about happiness, peace and enjoying the life he has built.
And if the loved-up Barcelona moments are anything to go by, TK may just have found his happy place again.
