South African rapper Emtee has issued another public statement apologising to his former wife, Kendall Nicole Chinsamy, their children and his supporters after an old video showing a heated altercation between the pair resurfaced on social media.

The video, believed to have been recorded during their relationship, shows an emotional confrontation inside their home. During the exchange, Nicole can be heard pleading for the alleged abuse to stop, while a domestic worker is seen standing between the two. Although the footage does not show Emtee physically assaulting Nicole, the resurfaced clip has sparked renewed debate online about the couple’s troubled relationship.

In response to the growing backlash, Emtee released a lengthy apology statement in which he reflected on the public scrutiny surrounding his personal life and acknowledged the pain caused to those closest to him.

“Over the past few months, my personal life has unfolded in the public eye in ways that have affected not only me, but also people I deeply care about. Today, I want to take a moment to speak from the heart,” he said.

The award-winning rapper apologised to Nicole, saying he recognised there were times he “could have shown greater understanding, compassion and maturity.”

“I am sincerely sorry for the pain, disappointment and emotional strain that our journey has caused you. While no relationship is without its challenges, I acknowledge that there are moments where I could have shown greater understanding, compassion and maturity. For that, I offer my heartfelt apology.”

Emtee also addressed the impact the public fallout has had on their children.

“To my children, I am deeply sorry that they have had to witness aspects of our personal lives become public. They deserve love, stability and parents who place their well-being above everything else. My commitment to them remains unwavering.”

The rapper said he has spent recent months reflecting on his life and the person he wants to become.

“This season has challenged me to reflect deeply on the man I am and the man I aspire to become. Growth requires honesty, accountability and the willingness to change, not only through words, but through consistent actions.”

Without directly addressing the resurfaced video or any specific allegations, Emtee said he would not discuss matters that are currently before the courts.

“Out of respect for everyone involved, I will not be commenting on matters that are currently before the courts. I remain committed to following the legal process with respect and integrity.”

He ended the statement by wishing Nicole well and thanking fans who have continued to support him.

“I wish Nicole nothing but peace, healing and happiness as we both move forward.”

Emtee and Kendall Nicole Chinsamy were together for several years and share children. Their relationship frequently made headlines, with both publicly accusing each other of misconduct following their separation. Over time, their private disputes spilled onto social media and into the public domain, attracting widespread attention and, in some instances, resulting in legal proceedings.

Following their split, Emtee has moved on and has publicly shared glimpses of a new relationship, occasionally posting photos and videos with his current girlfriend on social media. Despite entering a new chapter in his personal life, the resurfacing of old footage has once again placed his past relationship with Nicole under intense public scrutiny, prompting his latest appeal for privacy, accountability and healing for everyone involved.
