Multi-award-winning South African music duo Liquideep has officially signed with Africori/Warner Music, marking a major milestone in the group’s long-awaited return to the music industry and setting the stage for the release of new music.
The deal signals a fresh chapter for one of South Africa’s most influential musical acts, with the partnership expected to expand the duo’s global reach through Warner Music’s international distribution, marketing and artist development network. Africori became part of the Warner Music family in 2025, providing African artists with access to worldwide opportunities.
For more than a decade, Liquideep built a reputation as one of the country’s most successful acts, producing timeless hits such as Fairytale, Alone, Still, BBM and Rise Again. Their music earned platinum-selling success, numerous industry awards and a loyal fan base both locally and internationally.
After stepping away from the spotlight to focus on personal and creative growth, members Thabo “Ryzor” Shokgolo and Jonathan “Ziyon” Hamilton say they are returning with renewed purpose and a vision that extends far beyond nostalgia.
“This feels like the beginning of something incredibly meaningful,” the duo said.
“We’ve never been interested in simply returning for nostalgia. We wanted to come back because we still have something honest to say through our music. Partnering with Africori and Warner Music gives us the opportunity to honour where we’ve come from while building something that can reach audiences across the world. We’re inspired, we’re creating from a place of purpose, and we’re excited for people to hear this next chapter.”
Liquideep’s reunion has already generated significant excitement among fans who have waited years for the duo’s return. At the same time, their comeback has introduced their music to a younger generation discovering their catalogue for the first time.
Adam from Africori/Warner Music said the company saw Liquideep as more than just a commercially successful act.
“Liquideep are true pioneers whose music has become part of South Africa’s cultural identity. Their songs continue to resonate years after their release because they are rooted in authenticity, craftsmanship and emotion. We are honoured to welcome them to the Africori/Warner Music family and look forward to helping amplify this exciting new chapter both across Africa and internationally.”
Liquideep Business Manager Poobie Pillay said the partnership aligns with the team’s long-term vision of taking the group’s music to audiences around the world.
“Our core strategic goal for Liquideep’s return has always been to take their sound to a truly global audience,” Pillay said.
“Partnering with Africori and the Warner Music ecosystem gives us the exact infrastructure to make that a reality. By tapping into Africori’s unparalleled international distribution network across hundreds of platforms, we now have the power to seamlessly break into new markets and exponentially grow the reach of Liquideep’s music. This isn’t just a distribution deal; it’s a global launchpad that ensures their new era connects with fans worldwide.”
The signing comes as Liquideep prepares to release brand-new music inspired by the personal growth, experiences and artistic evolution the duo has embraced during their time away from the spotlight. While staying true to the soulful and emotive sound that made them household names, the upcoming material promises a fresh creative direction aimed at today’s global audience.
Reflecting on the journey ahead, the duo said the partnership represents more than a comeback.
“We’ve always believed music should connect people,” they said.
“That’s what Liquideep has always stood for. This partnership allows us to dream bigger, create without limits and share our music with the world again. We’re home – but we’re also stepping into a completely new season.”
With an iconic catalogue behind them and new music on the horizon, Liquideep’s partnership with Africori/Warner Music marks the beginning of an ambitious new era for one of South Africa’s most celebrated musical duos.
