Build One South Africa (BOSA) has clarified the reasons behind the dismissal of its sole Gauteng Member of the Provincial Legislature (MPL), Ayanda Allie, with party documents indicating that her removal followed a lengthy disciplinary process centred on unpaid party levies and alleged breaches of its internal code of conduct.
The party announced on Thursday that it had terminated Allie’s membership following disciplinary proceedings that began in July 2025. At the time, BOSA did not publicly disclose the reasons behind the decision, stating only that repeated attempts at engagement, consultation and mediation had failed to resolve the matter.
However, leaked documents reveal the primary issue was Allie’s alleged failure to pay the party’s mandatory 10% levy, a contribution required from all of BOSA’s public representatives to help finance the organisation’s operations. It is alleged that Allie had accumulated arrears of more than R180,000 from 2024 despite repeated reminders from party leadership. Her position as leader of BOSA in the Gauteng Legislature carried a reported monthly net salary of approximately R78,000.
Allie repeatedly failed to acknowledge or sign the party’s code of conduct despite numerous requests. BOSA warned that this amounted to non-compliance with internal organisational policies and could constitute misconduct and insubordination.
The party also advised Allie that if financial hardship prevented her from meeting her levy obligations, she could approach its operations manager to arrange a written payment plan. The party is to be willing to accommodate members experiencing financial difficulties but expected formal engagement.
A disciplinary committee subsequently convened hearings on June 30 and July 3 this year. BOSA’s board, chaired by Stevens Mokgalapa, ultimately found Allie guilty of breaching the party’s public representatives’ code of conduct and terminated her membership after she chose not to appeal the decision.
Allie has not publicly addressed the detailed allegations.
