The fourth annual Content Creator Awards has announced an impressive panel of 55 judges from South Africa’s content, media, marketing and entertainment industries as the adjudication process gets underway, while also inviting the public to nominate their favourite creators for the coveted People’s Choice Award.

The awards, now in their fourth year, continue to celebrate the creators, brands and agencies driving South Africa’s digital culture, offering recognition and opportunities for collaboration, career growth and industry exposure.

Entries across most of the awards’ 16 categories closed on 5 July, with judges now reviewing submissions to determine this year’s nominees.

In a first for the awards, organisers introduced in-person judging sessions in Johannesburg and Cape Town alongside two weeks of virtual assessments. The new format received overwhelmingly positive feedback from judges, creators, brands and agencies, with organisers confirming that face-to-face judging is likely to become a permanent feature of the awards.

Among the high-profile judges for 2026 are media personalities and industry leaders including Anele Mgudlwa, Khaya Dlanga, Lasizwe Dambuza, K Naomi Phakathi, Lesego Tlhabi, Nadia Jaftha, Nicole Capper Austin, Nomuzi Mabena, Rae Hargreaves and Sanesh Maharaj. They are joined by dozens of other experts representing the country’s leading media houses, agencies, brands and creative businesses.

Founder of the Content Creator Awards and One-eyed Jack, Manuela Dias de Deus, said the quality of this year’s judging panel reflects the growing stature of the awards within the industry.

“The calibre of judges we’ve welcomed this year is exceptional. To have such respected names from across the content, media and entertainment industries dedicate their time to the judging process speaks volumes about the reputation the Content Creator Awards has built. Their experience, insight and industry knowledge bring real credibility to the awards and, most importantly, provide meaningful recognition for the creators who are counting on this platform to open doors and create genuine opportunities,” she said.

As a not-for-profit initiative, the Content Creator Awards reinvests funds generated by the programme into South Africa’s creator economy through workshops, training and development initiatives designed to help digital creators build sustainable careers.

While the judging panel works behind the scenes to determine this year’s finalists, organisers have opened nominations for the People’s Choice Award, the only category decided entirely by the public. South Africans have until 2 August 2026 to nominate the content creator they believe deserves a place among this year’s finalists by submitting the creator’s name and social media handle on the awards website.

Nominees are expected to be announced in August, followed by a series of industry workshops and sessions before the winners are crowned at the 2026 Content Creator Awards ceremony in October.
