After months of speculation and viral moments, rapper, actress and television personality Anele Zondo has finally confirmed that she is in a relationship with rapper and podcaster L-Tido.

The couple, who first sparked romance rumours after sharing a kiss on an episode of L-Tido’s podcast, fuelled even more speculation when they arrived together at this year’s Hollywoodbets Durban July in coordinated outfits before sharing photos of the event on social media.

Speaking on the Engineer Your Life podcast with Lungelo KM, Zondo admitted the Durban July posts were their way of making the relationship public after keeping it private for some time.

“We posted a picture together, but I guess it was kind of saying something that we have probably been wanting to say forever,” she said.

Known to fans as Ney The Bae, Zondo explained that she has always kept her romantic relationships away from the spotlight and never felt pressured to confirm who she was dating.

Instead, she said she and L-Tido focused on building a solid foundation before sharing their happiness with the public.

“We have been really putting in the work and getting to know each other and doing the actual relationship work,” she said.

The Ingane hitmaker said one of the strongest aspects of their relationship is their shared Christian faith, describing it as the glue that keeps them grounded.

“If there is any advice I can give anyone, it is to align yourself with people who believe in the same thing as you. It just makes life so much easier,” she said.

Praising L-Tido, whose real name is Thato Madonsela, Zondo said his faith is reflected in the way he lives every day.

“You see his faith in the way he carries himself, in his discipline and you see his faith in the way that he treats me and how he treats people around him. There is so much I can say about this guy, but it’s really how he is a man of faith and that we pray together,” she said.

In a more personal moment during the interview, Zondo revealed that L-Tido entered her life at a time when she had become emotionally guarded after previous experiences.

She said he helped her rediscover vulnerability and changed the way she viewed love.

“He definitely softened me,” she said, adding that his support made her realise she no longer had to face life’s challenges alone.

The interview also touched on her decision to keep the identity of her child’s father private. Zondo maintained that while she is a public figure, some aspects of her life remain sacred.

“I don’t think I owe anyone to tell them who the father of my child is. As much as I am a public figure, there are still parts of my life that are very private and sacred,” she said.

With the couple now officially confirming their romance, fans who have followed their journey from podcast chemistry to their glamorous Durban July appearance finally have the answer they have been waiting for.
