Brand architect and celebrity publicist Simphiwe Majola bid an emotional farewell to his mother, Dudu Dora Majola, this week during a private and elegant funeral service held at Fourways Memorial Park.
The intimate send-off, handled by Icebolethu Funeral Services, brought together family, close friends, entertainment industry colleagues and several well-known personalities who gathered to celebrate the life of the woman who helped shape one of South Africa’s most respected celebrity publicists.

Known for working with some of the country’s biggest stars, Majola was surrounded by loved ones as they paid tribute to his late mother in a service that reflected both dignity and grace.
Among the familiar faces who attended were reality television personality and traditional healer Gogo Maweni, media personality Tebogo Ramokgadi and actress and entrepreneur Nomoya ‘Moya’ Dube, who joined mourners in offering their support to Majola and his family during the difficult time.
The service was marked by heartfelt tributes, moments of reflection and an atmosphere of love as mourners remembered Dudu Dora Majola’s life and legacy. Those in attendance comforted the grieving publicist, who has spent years building brands and managing the public images of celebrities, but found himself at the centre of a deeply personal moment.
In the days leading up to the funeral, messages of condolence poured in from friends, clients and colleagues across the entertainment industry, many praising Majola for his professionalism while extending their sympathies following his mother’s passing.

While the funeral was kept private, those who attended described it as a beautiful celebration of life, with every detail carefully arranged to honour Dudu Dora Majola’s memory.
The gathering served as a reminder of the strong relationships Majola has built throughout the entertainment industry, with many of the country’s familiar faces standing beside him as he said his final goodbye to his mother.
