Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala, who is a key figure in the state’s investigation into allegations of criminal infiltration in the South African Police Service (SAPS) has been orderd by the court to evict the premises.

Matlala had a five-year lease with the company for his company, Medicare24, from September 2021 to August 2026, and is accused of housing his other Cat VIP Protection at the Medicare24 offices without consent and reportedly storing security guns in the premises.

Matlala’s lease at Menlyn Maine Towers was cancelled in July, two months after he was arrested for the attempted murder hit of his ex-lover and former Muvhnago actress Tebogo Thobejane.

Matlala was reportedly taken to court by Menlyn Maine Towers in the east of Pretoria for unpaid rent for owing R258,890 in rental issues since June 2024. The court ordered Matlala’s company to be evicted from the offices.

Testifying before parliament’s ad hoc committee, Matlala said he had nine children and was paying over R2 million in monthly salaries to his employees and other expenses.
