A Cape Town-based model and influencer has accused the photographer to the stars Blaqsmith real name Kopano Makoro of sexual assault.

The incident is said to have happened after a night out. In a statement, the model wrote, Blaqsmith sexually assaulted me then attempted to rape me on 15 May 2025. I showed him no physical interest, we had not even kissed ever and I woke up to him fingering me in my sleep, and when I woke up to tell him to stop.”

She has shared alleged screenshots of their conversation after the incident. “I don’t need a response or any discourse on this. It is up to everyone to make their own decision.”
Blaqsmith has been the official photographer to stars such as Kiernan “AKA” Forbes, Zakes Bantwini, and Bonang Matheba to name a few. After the incident, he is said to have travelled on a work trip to the US with Bonang Matheba. “The girl tried to reach him, but I think because of the time difference, she couldn’t. She wanted to resolve the matter privately, but he has not been cooperative.” The model’s friend says she is still devastated and needs to build the courage to open a case. “She is still traumatised, when she builds the courage, she will open the case.” Blaqmith has been unreachable to state his side of the story.
