Scotts Maphuma has received backlash after clearly stating that he has “no time to take pictures with fans.” He reasoned that this was time-consuming. However, after a talk with veteran Kwaito producer Oskido, Scotts Maphuma has apologised to his supporters.

Scotts has penned an apology to the fans he refused to take pictures with. ” …want to take a moment to sincerely apologize to all my supporters after a viral video of fans notbeing responsive during ne of his performances. “I’ve let some of you down, and I take full responsibility,” Scotts Maphuma said. “Growth comes with owning your mistakes and I’m committed to doing better, for myself and for you. Thank you for still believing in me.” He apologised after meeting up with Kwaito legend Oskido at his Daruma restaurant in Midrand. “Always room to listen, reflect, and grow. Proud of the young king — exciting steps ahead,” Oskido said.

Scotts has shared his frustration and struggles with the pressures of fame. “This is the last time I give attention to this. I swear I’m not money. I can’t be loved by anyone. I can’t deal with the fact that my life can’t be private anymore. You can’t go to the mall and buy a pair of shoes, which is what I did for years, but now I have to think about being asked for pictures and it’s OK. I don’t mind if it’s just a picture but I can’t spend every minute of my life being Scotts Maphuma. When am I going to be normal again?
“Has South Africa thought about that? So if South Africa doesn’t care about us, whether you’re hurt or not in the mood, it could be anything because it’s not like I live in [the] studio and make music all the time. Why should I understand always that these people are my fans — why? You tell a person that today I’m not feeling like taking pictures, all of a sudden you’re rude. So I should give people my time and energy by force just because I’m who I am? I’m sorry. Cancel me South Africa — maybe I’ll be free from you.”
