The South African Police Service and the Free State Provincial Government has extended it deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the fallen police officers Boipelo Senoge, 20, Cebekhulu Linda, 24, and Keamogetswe Buys, 30 whose bodies were discovered by divers around 70km (43 miles) away in Hennops River earlier this week.

They were last seen leaving a petrol station near Johannesburg. The car they had been in was recovered from the same river on Thursday. “Their passing touched the country deep, but their dedication and contribution will never be forgotten,” SAPS said.

After a meeting which was held between the families of the late Constables, the Premier of the Free State, Honourable Maqueen Letsoha-Mathae and the Provincial Commissioner of Police in the Free State, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane, a decision has been taken to afford and honour the members with official funerals.

In tribute to the dedication and service of the late constables, a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, 06 May 2025, in Bloemfontein. The memorial service will be held at Bobbiespark, 02 Hannah Street, Bloemfontein and will start at 12:00.

The official funerals will take place on separate dates between 8 and 10 May 2025. Specific details for each funeral are as follows:
