On 27 April 2025, at around 11:00 a nurse on duty allegedly witnessed an incident where a 34-year-old mentally disturbed patient who was allegedly raped at a parking lot nearby a parked taxi.
Police swiftly responded to the call and a 38-year-old suspect reportedly from Tsitsikama locality was apprehended. The suspect will make his first court appearance before Whittlesea Magistrates Court on 29 April 2025. The exposure of the vulnerable to such crimes is grossly condemned by the District Commissioner Major General Rudolph Adolph.
