Police have made another breakthrough in the Wynberg Magistrate court shooting. On 8 April, two men are believed to have entered the fourth floor of the Wynberg Magistrates Court and one fired a semi-automatic weapon outside Court D. Two more suspects have been arrested for the murder of taxi boss Dilangalomoya Chintso. It’s believed that Chintso was killed as a gang retaliation.

The suspects, aged 23 and 34, were taken into custody in the Southern Suburbs during a focused operation on Thursday morning, 24 April 2025. Reports have stated that alleged gang queenpin Shireen Matthews was behind the alleged gang -related the fatal ‘revenge’ hit, will make her next court appearance on Wednesday, 23 April, when bail proceedings are expected to begin.

Police said, “Ongoing investigations into the murder at Wynberg Magistrates’ court two weeks ago where a 50-year-old man was fatally wounded, led Western Cape Serious Violent Crime detectives to the southern suburbs where they arrested two males, aged 23 and 34, in connection with the murder on Thursday morning, 24 April 2025.
