The tombstone of the king of Bacardi, Vusi Ma R5, real name Vusi Mosoeu was not so long ago vandalised and burned. Rumours and suspicion that his grave may have been burnt began circulating. Some people alleged it could have been for a ritual or witchcraft, however, no one found a culprit. Singer and dancer Jelly Babie, real name Karabo Khakhu who had been dating Vusi Ma R5 since she was 15 said his family pointed fingers at her.

While some were believed to have been burnt by accident by someone who was there to pay their respect to the slain artist, Jelly Babie says she was accused because of a picture she shared visiting his grave. “I didn’t do it, and I didn’t have proof. Everyone was blaming me,” she told Freshmen magazine in an interview. She said it took time to brush off the accusations. “It took time for me to heal. Nothing else can shake me after that,” she said. But she has since moved on and put the past behind.

Vusi Ma R5 was shot and killed assassination-style in Soshanguve in the early hours of Monday, January 30.
What followed for the Vusi was a memorial service, wreath-laying convoy, and funeral, which stunned the country, with his fans saying everything proved that he was one of the country’s most loved musicians.
Fans showed up in their hundreds to celebrate his legacy, in what was dubbed the biggest funeral of a celebrity, by the people of Pretoria, to ever have been witnessed.
However, recent images of his tombstone looking like it was burnt shocked the country and upset many of his fans.
