The family of seasoned actor Don Mlangeni Nawa have confirmed his passing on 16 April 2025.

In a statement, the family said, he was the heart of his family. “A loving father, brother and friend. To the world, he was a gifted and respected actor whose presence lit up every stage and screen he graced,” they said. “His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the stories he told, and the love he gave so freely.”

His family is grateful for the support through their mourning period, and will in due time share details of his memorial service and funeral.

The actor is best known for his role as Zebedee Matabane in the SABC3 soapie Isidingo, from 1998 to 2014. He left Isidingo is early 2014 following a disciplinary dispute with the show. In 2018 he had a starring role as Moseki, a royal family member and younger brother of the queen, in the Mzansi Magic telenovela The Throne.
