TV producer Thabiso Makhetha of BBL Media is currently in hot water with TV channel, Moja LOVE after he made claims on X that the channel stole his concept and created a show called #UthiyiUkleva which premiered on January 5th 2024.

Thabiso wrote to Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture Gayton McKenzie that he is needing intervention after her his show idea was allegedly stolen. “My only plea to you for 2025 as the new Minister. Please protect producers and production companies as well. To Patent a TV show is very expensive and black owned channels like,” Thabiso said. “HR of Moja LOVE is trying to blackmail me for #UthiyiUkleva a concept that solely belongs to us. If they don’t release a statement. I’m sharing all the messages that u send to me and your threats with. #UthuyiKleva by Loja LOVE is not their IP. It was not developed by them. We asked them not to air the show after we saw the promo last year. The channel, through its legal representative, has sent Thabiso a Cease And Desist letter citing his tweets as ‘Defamatory’. Moja Love has asked Makhetha to provide a written apology addressed to Moja Love withdrawing your various defamatory statements. Immediately cease all threats and intimidation towards Moja Love and its management . Remove all defamatory posts on all your social media posts relating to Moja Love and/or its management. The legal letter states that the above mentioned should be actioned before January 8th at 8PM.
