You last saw Lihle on Showmax’s original hit series Youngins, where she embodied the character of Zintle Hlatswayo, a distressed high school pupil who fell prey to her principal’s predatory behavior, resulting her falling pregnant. In an unfortunate turn of events, her character met her demise. Fast forward to Lihle now taking on the role of the young, street smart Ntombezintle on Mzansi Magic telenovela Champions, here is what viewers can expect from her new character.

Ntombezinhle (Zintle) is a 17-year-old girl from a matriarchal household. Her grandmother is a devout churchgoer, driven by the fear of being denied heaven. Her mother, on the other hand, dismisses prayer, preferring to seize whatever joys life offers, often through men. Her mother believes that a slim waist and good looks are enough to succeed and thus never pressurized her to achieve academic excellence. With a gap in her life due to the absence of a father figure, Zintle has learned to distrust men. She prefers short-term relationships to avoid being hurt or abandoned. Her life’s goal is to work smarter, not harder, relying on being street smart to get by.

Audiences will witness Zintle and her mother relentlessly pursue their ambitions to seize control of the loan shark business they are involved in. As they realise the need for a significant capital infusion, they set their sights on exploiting Zintle’s successful but estranged father.
