TV presenter Molemo ‘Jub Jub Maarohanye is a free man after charges of rape, attempted murder and assault have been withdrawn by the court.

Marking a significant moment in his legal battle, the director of public prosecution has confirmed that there was no case and has decided not to proceed with the prosecution.

The National Prosecuting Authority’s Phindi Mjonondwana confirmed the letter said, “After consideration of the case docket, the report from the prosecutor and the representations lodged to the director of public prosecution’s office, that office came to a conclusion that there are no reasonable prospects of a successful prosecution and the sensible thing to do was to withdraw the charges against Molemo Maarohanye.”

Following the director’s decision, all 14 charges, including those related to multiple counts of rape, attempted murder, and assaults, have been withdrawn. This has led to Mr Maarohanye being discharged of all charges, and he is now a free man.

Mr Maarohanye and his legal team have maintained his innocence throughout the case, and the recent decision by the director of public prosecution solidifies their position.
