She has been accused of verbal abuse after bizarre behaviour on Netflix show, The Ultimatum SA leaves SA heated. Khanya has since released a statement addressing her attitude.
Since Netflix’s South African version of The Ultimatum premiered and hosted Salamina and Howza Mosese has tried to guide the couples through their two months of putting their relationships to the test Nkateko and Khanya were among the couples on The Ultimatum and became a trending topic as people thought one of them was to blame for their relationship problems. Entrepreneur, Khanya gave her boyfriend Nkateko an ultimatum to marry her or break up. During the show, Khanya’s “stank attitude” and brash personality left viewers heated. In one scene with her boyfriend Nkateko, she spilled wine on him and pushed him over a bed. In another, she fat-shams a cast member, calling her fatty boom-boom during an argument.
The majority of the reactions were centered around Khanya, a contestant and she was labeled as “mean-spirited,” “rude,” and “narcissistic.” Viewers were shocked by her behavior, with some even calling her out for body shaming and violence.

In the statement, Khanya says, she understands some of the concerns. “Some of you may feel like I was out of line with some of my words and actions,” she said. “It was an intense experience for me and I handled it the best way I could. Just like how it was not easy for other cast members watching their partners with other people, it was not easy for me too.” Khanya said she has apologised to those she has wronged and thanked everyone for being invested in the show and sharing their thoughts “ I acknowledge, I’m a strong personality and say things that only others dare to think,” she said. “Making TV aside, we are dealing with real people and real emotion. It is in the past and a lot has happened since then including healing and transformation.”
