On Sunday, 07 April 2024 at about 09:10, members attached to Lingulethu West SAPS operationalised information received from the public which led them to a residence situated on Ngcwalazi Drive, Illitha Park. “Upon arrival at the address, the members ensued with a search during which they discovered and seized a substantial quantity of ecstasy tablets with an estimated value of R32 000.00,” police reported.

As a result of the discovery, the members arrested a 41-year-old man who faces a charge of dealing drugs. “Meanwhile, on Saturday, 06 April 2024at about 22:00, members of Bluedowns SAPS executed stop and search operations along the old Faure Road when they pulled over a vehicle with three occupants inside. The members searched the vehicle and found a firearm on the floor of the vehicle,” police confirmed. “The three occupants were arrested as none of them could account for the possession of the firearm. The three between the ages 27 and 29, face a charge of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.” They are scheduled to appear in the Khayelitsha and Bluedowns Magistrates’ courts, respectively, once charged.
