Radio host and businesswoman, Nongcebo Vukile McKenzie will not be returning to Ukhozi FM in the new radio season.
The news comes after radio stations had their annual reshuffling of programs. Nongcebo who has been host at the station for 15 years, broke down during her last show this past Sunday.
She leaves her 12 pm to 2:30 pm show listeners where she was known for her romantic RnB sound and soulful ballads. She leaves the reigns to Lucky Nkosi who will be taking over the slot. Nongcebo does not know what the future holds for her. “ I don’t know. Who will ask for a reason, I don’t know. What I know is that today is my last show on Ukhozi FM. I am thankful for the love,” she said. “Please continue to listen to Ukhozi FM.”
A tearful Nongcebo didn’t know if she would be able to do her last show as all this was emotional. “I thank Joe Hudla. I was still young when I started doing this show, Ezingaseze Zabuna, and on all radio stations, this particular show is presented by old and mature brothers. When I told Joe that I would not be able to present it, he said I can do it,” she said. “I thank Bra Joe and I thank Thanda Ndlovu. I worked with him when we had different sports on Sunday like the Comrades Marathon, he had amazing love. I thank you Gatsheni. I thank Bonga Mpanza who was the station manager.
