A moment in culture transcended between sport and culture as Sportscene and Nike celebrated 10 years of tech fleece with their musical athletes.
Held at Sportscene in Sandton City, Johannesburg, the youthful event was filled up with a crowd of music frenzy lovers, fashion enthusiast who jammed to the sounds of headlining Hip-Hop star A Reece, and danced to DJ Phonikz mix as well as entertained by TV personage Lerai.


Amongst the outlined entertainers uprising talent such as Chelsea- Sloan, Domnic Hurd, Toroh O Wano and DJ Double D opened stage as musical athletes. Nike’s latest popular range diversifies in telling the unending story of streetwear culture through music and sport. In a wider scale the Sportscene and Nike aims to move Tech Fleece back at the centre of sport and culture through celebrating athletes who cross over into music as DJs , instrumentalists, vocalists and rappers.
Taking the brand back to where it started Sportscene Marketing Manager, Ngqondi Mfini says, “ We want to take Tech Fleece right back to where it was designed to be, speaking to the culture narrative of street gear, where talent and youth can resonate with the brand,” he says. “There was no better way of telling this story but through raw talent who understand who they are and meant to be.”
