She has more than once implied that she she does not like some of his decisions made by the Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture Nathi Mthethwa and she wants him to resign.
A few months ago, TV presenter Bonang Matheba called out on his proposal to spend R22 million on a 100 metre-high “monumental” South African flag in May – which had to be cancelled by the Presidency.
“Fire this man. Please,” Bonang lashed out on social media.

This time she is livid about Mthethwa’s latest project, which is to plough R30 million into a new national orchestra.
While some liked the idea, others believe the country is battling unemployment, poor electricity infrastructure, the lack of adequate schools and hospitals. How can the country possibly motivate such a luxury at the expense.

After South Africa’s woman football team made it to finals of the Women’s African Cup of Nations after defeating Zambia in the semi-finals, Bonang says Banyana Banyana needs the money more than the country needs an orchestra.
“Please. These girls deserve MONEY! Open. Your. Wallet. Akere you want an orchestra?!! So damn useless!! Resign,” she told Mthethwa.
