The DStv Mzansi Viewers’ Choice Awards (DMVCA) are back, following a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The awards, which are a celebration of local talent, will be held at Sun Arena in Pretoria on the 25th of June 2022 and will also be broadcast live on Mzansi Magic (DStv channel 161). Voted for by the South African public, the DMVCA will honour top achievers over the past two years in television, radio, music, sports and comedy.

This year, the DMVCA features 13 categories, including special awards for individuals who have made an indelible mark on the local entertainment scene. These are:

  • Song of the Year
  • Favourite Actress
  • Favourite Actor
  • Favourite Radio Personality
  • Favourite DJ
  • Favourite Comedian
  • Favourite Rising Star
  • Favourite Sports Personality
  • Favourite TV Presenter
  • Favourite Music Artist/ Group
  • Personality of the Year
  • Lifetime Achiever (chosen by the channel)
  • Life Changer (sponsored)
