Rapper So Say Miss TT walked away with the big prize at this years Northern Cape Arts and Culture Recognition Awards held in Kimberly on 18 December 2021.
As it does every year, the NCA shines the spotlight on Northern Cape talent.
Following the inaugural record-breaking talent recognition ceremony, the Northern Cape Awards (NCA) will once again shine the spotlight on arts, sports, culture and recreation Northern Cape talent at a gala ceremony in Kimberly on Friday , on the 17th of December 2021.
Hosted by Northern Cape’s very own seasoned serial entrepreneur and media mogul Proverb, the awards ceremony promises to have all elements for riveting online viewing, music mash ups, and star power of the celebrities from the province.
The 2ndannual Northern Cape Awards categories include: Newcomer of the year, Trendsetter of the year, Personality of the year, Fashion designer of the year, Comedian of the year, Poet of the year, Sportsman of the year, Sportsman of the year with a disability, Sportswoman of the year, Sportswoman of the year with a disability, Coach of the year, Team of the year, Traditional music / single / album of the year, R&B / Reggae / Afro Jazz Artist/Group of the year, Gospel Artist/ Group/Choir of the year, Hip Hop Artist/Group of the year, Staged performance/production of the year, House music of the year, Music video of the year, DJ of the year, Actress or actor of the year, Artist of the year,Journalist of the year, Radio Station of the Year, Visual Artist / Crafter of the year, Government communicator of the year, MEC Award (Lifetime Achievement / Legendary Sportsperson Award. This award honours who contributed for years in their chosen field) and the Premier Award (Entertainer of the year. This award include all forms of arts, sports, culture and recreations talent displays).
All 30 categories winners will walk away with massive cash prizes and luxurious items courtesy of support from the Northern Cape government, the National Lotteries Commission and other private sector munificent sponsors. Minister Sport, Arts and Culture Nathi Mthethwa will deliver a keynote speech at the Awards Ceremony while Northern Cape Premier, His Excellence Dr Zamani Saul will officiate the handing over of brand new to the overall winner
Chairman and Founder of the awards Mr Matodzi Makananisa said the province will see a production of international standards this year:
“The Northern Cape Awards are about production. We showed last year what we are capable of. This year it is going to be Hollywood standard.
We are going for broke. We are the biggest entertainment stage in the province and it must show in our production. We are giving away a big car, in line with what we stand for, which is true empowerment of our artists in the province.”
