One star who never misses a beat is the multi-award winning, international rapper D-Black. The Ghanaian star shares his much anticipated fifth album, Loyalty.

After taking a haitus of four years from the music scene, Desmond Kwesi Blackmore’s latest offering has shown that he left no stone unturned upon his return.
The 12-track album with 5 skits is bursting with flavor that is a merge of African and global music which he interprets through sound.
Loyalty features the likes of his signee, Sefa, top Ghana afro-pop and dance hall starmStonebwoy. songstress Efya, Darkovibes, Quamina MP, Akwaboah, Nigeria’s finest Ice Prince, Praiz, Simi and Peruzzi and South African maestro, Anzo, among others.
The 2010 BET award nominee recorded his album when the world stood still and was was hard hit by the global pandemic Covid-19, and he did not let this stop him, inmfact it served as a driving force for him.
Talking about the album D-Black says, “This time I am exploring five different genres on one album including the traditional Ghana sound, Highlife, Afrobeats and my current favourite genre Amapiano. I have actually laid down two albums. This while I was in lockdown in Los Angeles, USA when Covid-19 hit the world. I worked on music from March to July. When I landed back in Ghana then we went into lockdown, I then made more music. I worked with various artists from Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa.”

To him Loyalty means “As human beings we all demand loyalty in one way or another. Whether it is relationships, friendships or colleagues at work, we all demand it. Sometimes we can be selfish with our demands, when you listen to
this album you understa
nd exactly where I am coming from as you listen to
people’s perspectives and opinions with regards to loyalty in your relationships. It is a journey from the first track right down to the last. So please check it out and rock with me, I am back!”


The Afro-beats album which dropped on 14 May 2021 is led by his upbeat, feel good single, Enjoyment Minister featuring Stonebwoy and Quamina MP has been topping charts including Ghana and Nigeria.
D-Black said: “Enjoyment Minister is a feel good song that is about enjoying and celebrating life and I navigate as the Enjoyment Minister who gives people a good time. Stonebwoy and Quamina brought it all together.”
This jack off all trades, and master of all is a renowned record label owner of Black Avenue Music, club owner of Club Onyx and Oasis Lounge all nestled in the heart of Ghana.
He has previously collaborated with the likes of award-winning South African stars Bucie, Cassper Nyovest, Khuli Chana, Nigerian superstars Davido, M.I Abaga and Ghana’s Sarkodie.
