
SABC Education has announced the return of agricultural show Living Land, set to broadcast on SABC2 from Saturday 1st May 2021 at 13:30.
This daytime family offering will be presented by the vibrant poultry farmer and TV personality Kamohelo Bombe as she educates, inspires, and empowers the public with all things agricultural in Southern Africa.
“I am so excited. Agriculture is very close to my heart, and getting to educate people and learn as I work is a dream for me,” Kamo says to Buzz Life News.
This season of Living Land pays special emphasis on the “next generation” and their role in agriculture, rural development and food security throughout the region.
It is aimed at bringing the youth back into agriculture and challenge the hot topic in agriculture that the average age of farmers across the world is between 50 and 60 years old.
The series is educational and focuses on a host of exciting new technological advances in agriculture and will specifically feature career options for young viewers, not only in primary farming but also in associated activities like agro-processing, marketing, communication, engineering and research.
Agricultural topics with women in agriculture are also incorporated in the series as we equip the farmers to feed the world.
“More women are starting their own businesses and showing interest in farming and agriculture and its an honour to be part of their journey,” Kamo says.
Amongst other topics to receive attention this season are Land Reform and Climate Change, The Red-Letter Events in agriculture such as the Landmark International Events, Youth Day Celebrations and Outstanding Agricultural Award Winners.
The series is filmed at various farms around Limpopo, Gauteng, Free State, Northern Cape, Western Cape, North West, KZN and Mpumalanga.
