On 13 March 2021, Buzz Life News reported on the death of veteran actor Menzi Ngubane after succumbing to a stroke.

For many years, Menzi had been battling with Kidney failure and has been in and out of hospital.
The news came as a shock to many South Africans who had been eager to see him on television after he left the role of Judas on Mzansi Magic soapie, Isibaya.

Before that, he played Sibusiso Dlomo also known as Ngamla on Generations. He was part of the cast of 16 actors that were dismissed after demanding a salary increase in 2014.

Menzi joined Gold Diggers as Israel, Patrick Gumede’s young charismatic and streetwise brother.

In 2015 Menzi joined e.tv telenovela Ashes to Ashes in the role of Detective Nkonzo Mazibuko. He made his debut on Thursday, 9 July.

Menzi appeared in a number of South African films, including How to Steal 2 Million alongside John Kani, Terry Pheto and Rapulana Sephemo. The story is about a robber who gets out of jail after five years to find that his partner, who never got caught, has married his girlfriend. Desperate for money, he agrees to help his partner rob his partner’s father for two million rands. However the robbery goes wrong, and secret plans come out. As the pressure mounts on them, the tension builds towards the surprising and explosive finale.

On the drama series Ubambo Lwami, Menzi played the role of gangster and loan shark Mazwi. The role came while Menzi was presenting gameshow Its Your Choice with Patricia Lewis.
