The revolutionary #LOCKDOWNHOUSEPARTY has made a return for another thrilling 3rd season, and partnered with DRIP Footwear.
Mzansi’s music and street wear culture is one of the strongest to date, and has both the young and old united on all fronts.
We all know that when you go out to a party or music festival, looking good is top of mind while shoes are an even bigger fashion flex. Standing out and turning heads is the name of the game.
Now we have been awarded the opportunity to do both, in the comfort of our own homes. The show has secured one of the coolest and renowned sponsors, and pioneers in street wear, DRIP FOOTWEAR.
DRIP FOOTWEAR was founded by Lekau Sehoana whose disadvantaged background became the foundation and driving force to him owning and creating his own sneaker brand. A reflection of humble beginnings.
Talking about this exciting sponsorship, Lekau said: “Shimza and I come from neighboring kasi’s (townships). He is from Tembisa and I am from Ivory Park. We have always spoken about inspiring and uplifting our communities. As soon as #LOCKDOWNHOUSEPARTY was confirmed and the opportunity for us to be sponsors presented itself, I agreed to it and we made it happen.”
With the outbreak of the global pandemic, COVID-19, and the restrictions and lockdowns implemented across the world, the effects of different industries and the economy has been brutal. It has forced businesses to create other avenues and ways of generating an income.
Lekau said that with the effect of the virus, one had to look at other avenues and ways to work and commends the innovation behind #LOCKDOWNHOUSEPARTY, “The movement has managed to create a different but convenient way of entertaining South Africans and by so doing they have become the biggest virtual event in SA. This speaks to us as a brand and how we were able to maneuver in the midst of the pandemic. We are always ready to support innovation and the Lockdown House Party has found an innovative way of entertaining the public in the comfort of their own home.”
Shimza added: ”This partnership is one for the books and we are excited to have DRIP on board our ship. The fact that we are still going strong and helping South Africans party in the comfort of their own homes during these trying times is a blessing. We look forward to walking this path with DRIP and grow our culture one local brand at a time.”
The captains of the ship, DJs pH and Shimza who are the executive producers, will be ensuring that they keep the party going week in and week out with some of the hottest acts.
The famous stage will be adorned by the likes of DJs Sox, Mo Flava, Lulo Café, Eltonnick, Dino Bravo, Focalistic, Big Zulu, Audrey Ncwane and Daliwonga just to mention a few.
What’s most important is that the #LOCKDOWNHOUSEPARTY has been bringing families together in these difficult times.
