It’s been six years since multiple award-winning TV drama Uzalo hit South African TV screens, building up a loyal following by delivering riveting storylines, loveable characters and heart-stopping cliffhangers.

In its 6 year existence, Uzalo has turned a host of unknown talent into household names and showcased KZN to devoted audiences nationwide. The drama has also been home to some of South Africa’s most established acting talent, who’ve played a major part in creating the magic that viewers have enjoyed.  

True to form, this season is set to end with a bang as Uzalo announces a host of new talent and welcomes Mzansi’s favourites back on to our screens. Viewers are urged to ready themselves for the beginning of a refreshed and reenergized story world as Uzalo remains committed to delivering impactful stories with exciting twists and cliffhangers.

Straightforward and brutally honest Belinda Mncube, played by Nina Mkhize, portrays MaNgcobo’s no-nonsense childhood friend. The much loved Mxolisi Majozi better known as Zuluboy, will be back on Uzalo screens as Sboniso, also known as Last-Number, a pimp and thug that terrorizes the Kwamashu community. He is extremely indebted and devoted to his brother Amos, who is equally charming and cunning. Amos will now be played by the veteran Bongani Madondo.


The Godfathers of Kwamashu, UMBUTHO are inconspicuous and callous rulers of all the criminal activities related to carjacking in the community. UMBUTHO consists of five members who consolidated the KwaMashu region and subdivided it amongst themselves. The members are, in their hierarchy – Mageba played by Mike Mvelase, Nkunzi played by Masoja Msiza, Sobhuza played by Siyabonga Nene (also known as Big Zulu), Mandleni played by Thokozane Sithole and Kotini played by Herald Khumalo.
