After a no-holds-barred interview on Podcast and Chill with MacG that saw scandal plagued businessman Thami Ndlala spill the tea on his personal life and lift the lid on his personal life, business ventures, marriage and alleged beef with fellow controversial businessman Edwin Sodi, the episode has left tongues wagging.
While some viewers were glued to the drama, the revelations may not have gone down well with Sodi, whose name found itself in the middle of Ndlala’s wife-related suspicions.
Ndlala opened up about his strained relationship with businessman Sodi, revealing that his discomfort arose when Sodi allegedly booked his wife, DJ and media personality Lerato Kganyago, for an event.
The discussion was fuelled by the questions about what happened behind the scenes and why Ndlala felt the need to confront Sodi directly.
“I have nothing against the gent,” Ndlala stated.
Despite the apparent tension, Ndlala told MacG that he did not have a personal grudge against Sodi.
He confirmed that he had previously contacted Sodi to tell him he was uncomfortable with him booking Kganyago for his events.
“I once had a phone call with him; I said I’m not comfortable with him booking my wife,” Ndlala revealed.
When co-host Sol Phenduka questioned why Sodi’s involvement made him uncomfortable, Thami suggested that he had seen something that raised concerns about the businessman’s intentions.
“I think he was going there; it was not just a false alarm. I stumbled on one of the communications that said, ‘Babe,’” he said.
Ndlala did not publicly establish the full context of the communication during the reported exchange; however, his remarks prompted speculation about the nature of the friendship.
Sodi is known for his involvement in major government infrastructure and tender contracts. His business dealings have attracted public scrutiny, particularly in connection with allegations surrounding public procurement.
He has also become a familiar name in entertainment and celebrity conversations, with his personal associations frequently attracting attention. Although married to his fiancée, Karen Zulu, Edwin has been romantically linked to several high-profile South African women over the years.
Both Ndlala and Sodi are prominent businessmen whose personal lives and relationships have attracted public attention beyond their professional activities. Both have also become subjects of intense social media discussion, where their names frequently feature in controversial conversations about money, celebrity relationships, and influence.
For Ndlala, the issue raised on the podcast appeared to be one of personal boundaries and trust within his marriage. His account suggests that he wanted to make his discomfort clear to Sodi directly rather than leave the matter unaddressed.
A source has revealed how after the podcast, on Sunday 25 October, the two men “went at each other, screaming, shouting, and hurling threats.”
”There was even an intervention from some close friends to try and iron things out, but both were stubborn,” the source revealed.
”There was no need for Thami to mention him in the interview. He was there to clear his name.”
The viral interview brought more tension between the two men into sharper focus. While Ndlala’s comments were direct, the source said that the two men had not engaged in a new, face-to-face verbal brawl but had spoken over the phone.
