A man identified as Siyeza Ngcobo, CEO of Khula Website Design and Big Eye Holdings, has publicly accused Icebolethu Group Chief Executive Officer and South African Funeral Practitioners Association (SAFPA) National President Nomfundo Mcoyi of exploiting him, making a series of claims in a video shared on social media.
Speaking in a mixture of English and isiZulu, Ngcobo detailed his version of events and alleged that Mcoyi took advantage of him during their dealings.
“I was exploited by Nomfundo who promised me work at SAFPA,” Ngcobo said, as he set out his claims in the video.
Ngcobo shares his version
Ngcobo used the video to explain what he says happened and why he has now decided to speak publicly about his experience.
The video, titled “How I was exploited by Nomfundo Mcoyi”, contains serious allegations that have not been independently verified, including exploitation and defamation.
“On 28 May 2025, Nomfundo asked me to assist in her campaign. I put everything on hold and helped her. I dedicated myself; she promised me a lot of work. She said she came with money,” he said.
”I put my whole life on hold. I had clients that I lost because of working with her. I worked on her strategy, content, campaign and website. We strategised everything. I am not here to tarnish her image. She promised me a lot. We worked until the last day of the elections.”
He was accused of stealing.
”When she won, things took a turn. She turned on me when money valued at R750 000 went missing. Money received from Rand Mutual Assurance (RMA) due to e-mail hacking. I was fingered for it. I asked her, and she pretended to be surprised,” he said.
According to reports, SAFPA alleges that the payment was made into a fraudulent bank account following an email hacking incident involving an account hosted by Big Eye Holdings.
Ngcobo, however, denies any responsibility for the loss and says SAFPA has never provided him with evidence proving that he was involved in diverting the funds. He also addresses legal letters allegedly sent by SAFPA’s lawyers demanding the handover of a domain name and website
“ They removed me from handling the site and demanded the domain and said I would be working only on the social media. She planned to use me and then remove me as a service provider,” he said.
“ I have been doing this business for more than 15 years. I run a legit business and have never been implicated in anything sinister. Suddenly I am being accused of theft. Nomfundo overworked me during her campaign; she owes me for my hard work,” he says.
“I challenge them to present the proof if they claim the money was stolen. Those responsible must account for the money or face arrest. She owes me an apology and a retraction of all the allegations made on my name.”
”She will never get the SAFPA website and domain for free. Until I receive an apology and the payment owed to me. Nomfundo Mcoyi made many promises when she invited me to work on your SAFPA election campaign. She assured me there would be opportunities to work with both your company and SAFPA, and I accepted the offer in good faith because I trusted her word,” he added.
“Unfortunately, it became clear that those promises were never honoured. Instead, I was used for my skills and contributions, only to be pushed aside once they were no longer convenient. To make matters worse, I was unfairly blamed and accused of the loss of R750 000. Rather than addressing the situation fairly, they resorted to intimidation by sending me legal threats on two separate occasions.”
Claims have not been independently verified
Nomfundo Mcoyi’s response to the allegations was not immediately available. SAFPA National and the other individuals and organisations named in the video should also be given an opportunity to respond to the specific claims made against them.
The article will be updated should Mcoyi or any of the other parties named respond to the allegations.
