Uncle Waffles, Focalistic, Dlala Thukzin, Oscar Mbo and Scorpion Kings are among the major names confirmed for two major Piano People events in Johannesburg and Cape Town this summer.
Amapiano comes home
Piano People is bringing its global “Amapiano To The World” movement back to South Africa with two major events set to unite some of the country’s biggest Amapiano stars with fans this festive season.
The international platform will make its Johannesburg debut with Piano People at The Station at the iconic Old Park Station on 28 November, before heading to Cape Town for Piano People on the Beach at Cabo Beach on 30 December.
The Johannesburg line-up will be led by Uncle Waffles, Focalistic, Dlala Thukzin and Oscar Mbo, while Kelvin Momo and Njelic are set to deliver a special back-to-back set.
The event promises to bring together the energy of Johannesburg’s urban landscape with a celebration of the music that has grown from South Africa into a global phenomenon.
From Joburg to the Cape
A month later, Piano People will trade the city for the coast with its Cape Town event at Cabo Beach.
Scorpion Kings, Focalistic and Dlala Thukzin are among the headline acts confirmed for the 30 December celebration, which follows Piano People’s sold-out debut at the venue.
The Cape Town event will combine Amapiano, the ocean and the summer sunset, creating a festive-season experience aimed at music lovers looking to close out 2026 on a high.
The two events offer distinctly different settings while remaining rooted in the same culture and sound that have helped Amapiano become one of South Africa’s most influential musical exports.
Celebrating the music at its source
For Piano People, returning to South Africa is significant because the country is the birthplace of the sound at the centre of its international movement.
“South Africa represents far more than another destination on an international calendar. It is home to the music that started it all,” the organisers said.
The events are designed to bring together the artists and audiences driving Amapiano’s continued growth, while showcasing the genre in two of the country’s most prominent summer destinations.
“Together, the two events capture the essence of Piano People: bringing the music, artists and fans driving Amapiano’s global rise together,” the organisers said.
With major names from across the Amapiano scene confirmed, both Johannesburg and Cape Town are set for high-energy celebrations of the genre as South Africa heads into the festive season.
