Three suspects have been arrested and the recovery of 14 stolen Merino sheep valued at approximately R49,900.00.
A coordinated intelligence driven operation by the South African Police Service and private security on Friday, 18 July 2025, resulted in the arrest. The multidisciplinary anti-stock theft operation, which commenced on Thursday, 17 July 2025, at 10:00 AM, acted on intelligence indicating a group of male suspects were targeting a farm in Edenburg for stock theft.

In the early hours of Friday, 18 July, at approximately 04:30, the operational team successfully intercepted a white Mercedes-Benz panel van on the N6 near Reddersburg, heading towards Bloemfontein. A search of the vehicle revealed the stolen livestock inside.
Three suspects, aged 39, 32, and 29, were immediately arrested on charges of possession of suspected stolen sheep and stock theft. They are expected to appear in court soon.
