The board of Build One South Africa (BOSA) has terminated the membership of Gauteng Member of the Provincial Legislature (MPL) Ayanda Allie following the conclusion of an internal disciplinary process.
In a statement issued on Friday, the party said the decision was taken after its disciplinary structures had completed their work.
“The Board of Build One South Africa has resolved to terminate the membership of Ayanda Allie, Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature, following the conclusion of an internal disciplinary process,” the party said.
BOSA added that while it was committed to accountability and ethical leadership, it would not disclose further details about the disciplinary matter.
“In line with the principles of due process, fairness and respect for the dignity of all parties involved, BOSA will not be commenting further on the specifics of the case.”
The party said the decision reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining high ethical standards within its ranks.
Her departure followed recent social media speculation regarding her political future after a photo of her with ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba surfaced online, though neither Allie nor ActionSA confirmed any formal connection.
Allie was given the option to appeal the board’s final decision under the party’s constitution, but she chose not to exercise that right.
“BOSA remains steadfast in its commitment to building a values-based political movement rooted in integrity, accountability and service to the people of South Africa.”
The expulsion comes just days after BOSA announced Nongelo Chiume as mayoral candidate for the Ekurhuleni metro ahead of the local government elections. His campaign prioritizes basic service delivery, job creation, and tackling corruption
Chiume’s unveiling signalled the party’s intention to strengthen its campaign in South Africa’s economic hub, with BOSA positioning itself as an alternative to the country’s established political parties.
Allie’s removal from the party now leaves a vacancy within BOSA’s Gauteng caucus and marks another significant leadership development as the party prepares for the upcoming municipal elections.
