Veteran music producer and record label boss Oskido has melted hearts after sharing an emotional tribute to longtime friend and global superstar Black Coffee, reflecting on the remarkable journey they have travelled together over the past two decades.

Oskido revealed that Black Coffee recently treated him to a luxury weekend in Ibiza before surprising him with his first-ever flight on a private jet to the Greek island of Mykonos.

“In 2005 we saw something in @realblackcoffee when few were paying attention. Today, look at what God has done with his journey,” Oskido wrote.

“This weekend, he took care of me in Ibiza, then said, ‘Bhuda, let’s go to Greece. Mykonos.’ Next thing, I am on a private jet for the first time in my life,” he continued:

Reflecting on the moment, Oskido said it reminded him that kindness always comes back around.

“Life has a beautiful way of coming full circle. Give from the heart. Don’t keep score. God can multiply it in ways you could never imagine. Proud of you, Bhuda. I Believe.”

The heartfelt message resonated with fans, many of whom praised the enduring friendship between two of South Africa’s most influential music figures.

Their relationship dates back to the mid-2000s, when Oskido was among the first established industry veterans to recognise Black Coffee’s extraordinary talent. At the time, Black Coffee was an emerging producer and DJ trying to break into a competitive music industry.

Through Kalawa Jazmee Records, Oskido became one of the key figures who believed in Black Coffee’s potential, offering guidance, opportunities and support during the early stages of his career. That encouragement helped lay the foundation for what would become one of the most successful careers in electronic music.

Over the years, the pair have maintained a close bond that extends far beyond business. Oskido has often referred to Black Coffee as family, while Black Coffee has repeatedly acknowledged Oskido’s mentorship and the role he played in opening doors when many others overlooked him.

Today, Black Coffee is recognised as one of the world’s leading DJs, performing at the biggest festivals and exclusive venues across the globe. His international success includes a Grammy Award and collaborations with some of the biggest names in music, making him one of South Africa’s greatest global entertainment exports.

For Oskido, stepping onto a private jet at the invitation of someone he once championed was more than a luxurious experience, it was a powerful reminder of loyalty, gratitude and the rewards of believing in others before the rest of the world does.

His message concluded with perhaps its most powerful lesson: “Give from the heart. Don’t keep score. God can multiply it in ways you could never imagine.”
