Caswell CeeJay Junior Mnisi, professionally known as CeeJay Ball, is a South African DJ and producer whose sound blends Afro Tech, hip hop, and soulful piano to create music that is both energetic and emotionally resonant.
Born in Johannesburg and raised in Nelspruit and Acornhoek, CeeJay Ball grew up in a household where music was part of everyday life. His passion for music was heavily influenced by his brother, who played a significant role in shaping his appreciation for sound and creativity from a young age.
Before pursuing music, CeeJay Ball’s first dream was soccer. His talent on the field led to him being scouted and selected to train abroad in Belgium. However, in 2008, a car accident changed the course of his life and ended that opportunity. What initially felt like a devastating setback later became a turning point that redirected him toward his true calling in music.
His journey into music began through DJing, where he developed a deep understanding of rhythm, crowd energy, and sound selection. Inspired by that experience, he began producing his own music in 2019, crafting tracks that merge Afro Tech textures, hip hop influences, and soulful piano elements. His music is deeply influenced by mindset, spirituality, and street culture, giving his sound both depth and authenticity.
Although he has not officially released music yet, CeeJay Ball has already begun building a reputation for his powerful live DJ sets, where he often plays his own unreleased productions. The response from audiences has been overwhelmingly positive, with listeners connecting instantly to music that feels fresh, vibrant, and emotionally immersive while still staying current with modern dance culture.
CeeJay Ball creates music for people who want more than just a beat — music for those who want to dance, reflect, and lose themselves in the rhythm while feeling every emotion on the dance floor.
His musical inspiration comes from artists such as Caiiro, Da Capo, Enoo Napa, Kabza De Small, Kelvin Momo, De Mthuda, and the former rap group Migos. These influences have helped shape his sound into a fusion of electronic African rhythms and contemporary urban music.
