The ANC has announced the passing of former NEC member Dikeledi Magadzi.

Dikeledi Magadzi is the former Deputy Minister of Transport and Water and Sanitation and a veteran ANC leader.

“The African National Congress is deeply saddened and mourns the passing of Comrade Dikeledi Magadzi,” ANC national spokesperson Mahlengi Bengu said.

“She previously served as a member of the National Executive Committee and as a deputy minister, bringing a strong sense of public service and revolutionary commitment to every responsibility entrusted to her. Her contribution to governance and the movement was extensive,” Bengu said.

She was elected to the National Assembly, chaired the Portfolio Committee on Transport, and later served as Deputy Minister of Transport and Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation.

“We take this opportunity to wish her family divine strength during these very trying times. We encourage all NEC Members to give her family the support that they need and to remember them in their prayers.” reads the statement.

Secretary-General, Fikile Mbalula said.

“It is with a deep sense of sadness that we inform you of the passing on of Cde Dikeledi Magadzi this morning 28th December 2025.”

Bengu described Magadzi as a committed leader and seasoned cadre of the ANC who served both the movement and the democratic state with dedication and discipline.

 “Cde Dikeledi Magadzi previously served as an ANC NEC Member as well as a Deputy Minister,” he added.

An update on any further developments will be made as the family prepares to bid her final farewell.
