DJ, songwriter, and producer Benny Maverick officially releases his long-awaited studio album, Valencia, under gamma. Africa.

A deeply personal project inspired by his mother’s strength and journey, Valencia marks a new era for Benny Maverick – blending soulful Afro-house, dance, and global rhythms into a cohesive, vibrant soundscape. The album reflects growth, healing, and the joy of reconnecting with roots, delivering both emotional depth and infectious energy.

Valencia is a rich and emotive body of work that reflects Benny Maverick’s growth as an artist and as a person. Combining heartfelt songwriting, live instrumentation, and Afro-house production, the album is a celebration of purpose, passion, and African soundscapes. It captures the essence of Benny’s artistry — soulful, refined, and undeniably rooted in Africa.


 “This project is one that is very special to me because it’s named after my mother, Valencia – giving her flowers while she’s still here, while she can still smell them,” Benny Maverick. says.

“Valencia means strength, and that explains who I am and the strength I’ve drawn from watching my mother raise two boys as a single parent on a teacher’s salary. This album is a dedication to her – to her resilience, her love, and her legacy.” he adds.

He got an incredible lineup of producers and artists who helped bring this project to life – Triple X Da Ghost, Effected, Ntwana R, JazzWrld, Thukuthela, Orchid Musiq, and Aidah.

“The sound is deeply inspired by old-school house compilations – Fresh House Flava, Soul Candi, and DJ Claude – music that makes you feel something,” he says.

“Valencia is soulful, timeless, and meant to sound like an expensive piece of art. My message is simple: no matter how many times life knocks you down, it’s about how you get back up and keep leveling up.”
In the lead single, Uyadlala he features Sykes, Zeh McGeba, GL Ceejay & Orchid MusiQ.
