Actor and former EFF MP Fana Mokoena, Axed MK Party treasurer Menzi Ngubane, Nolubabalo Mcinga, and Archbishop Zondo join Floyd Shivambu’s camp.

Former Umkhonto Wesizwe Party Secretary-General Floyd Shivambu has confirmed he will be starting his own political party, Mayibuye. He recently hosted a press conference at the Mhulu Luxury Boutique Hotel in Midrand announcing plans to launch a new political party, distancing himself from the ANC, EFF, and MK Party, and pledging a gender-balanced leadership. He hosted another briefing announcing the team assisting him in mobilising his new venture. Former EFF member of parliament and actor Fana Mokoena, former MK treasurer-general Menzi Ngubane, Nolubabalo Mcinga, and Archbishop Zondo join Floyd Shivambu camp.

Former ‘Generations’ actor Fana Mokoena has seemingly shown Floyd Shivambu support and joined the movement. Rape-accused Archbishop Stephen Zondo has also joined the party along with fired former MK Party treasurer-general Menzi Ngubane. King Dalindyebo’s estranged wife Nolubabalo Mcinga has been at the forefront of supporting the new party after leaving EFF, MK with Shivambu.

He announced that he would consult communities and groups to gauge whether he should launch his own political party to contest the 2026 local government elections. He told the media that this consultative process will include existing political parties and their members, claiming that members of the Government of National Unity, including the African National Congress and the Democratic Alliance had talks with the consultative forum.
