A few years ago, she suffered a health scare when was admitted for exhaustion at an Eastern Cape hospital. Gospel singer and founder of the Lusanda Spiritual Group, Lusanda Mcinga has come forward to share she is battling severe health complications that have left her bedridden and unable to stand without assistance.
The music veteran is said to be in agonising pain and in urgent need of surgery, but the road to recovery has been anything but smooth. Speaking candidly about her condition, Mcinga revealed that she’s been suffering from intense pain in her waist, neck, and back.

She said her health issues stem from a serious spinal issue where cartilage is missing between the bones in her back. “Two discs need to be repaired in my back,” she said, highlighting the severity of her condition.” Despite undergoing an MRI scan back in 2021, she is yet to go for surgery. She adds that strong medication only brings temporary relief. “I am always on strong painkillers,” she said. “They just make me sleep. When I wake up, the pain is back.”

In 2022, she pleaded for financial assistance from her fans after declaring she was broke. “What has been happening is that people would give me R200 or R300 and it felt like a million to me. Bethusile (son and Gospel singer)has been helping but he will never manage to assist me in all my problems. The reason that made me to do the video is because I would like to record an album as I don’t want to disappear into the thin air, ” she said. “I would like to go to the studio but I know my kids cannot afford and I cannot afford to go and record. I was appealing to everyone who can help to donate whatever money they can afford.”
