Gamer and comedian Mongezi Ngcobondwane Mahlangu, better known as Tol A$$ Mo has ocme forth to apologise to traditional healer and DJ Gogo Skhotheni, real name Patricia Tumi Motsoeneng-Shange for insensitive comments he made on Podcast and Chill show.
During the interview, the comedian claimed that Sangoma’s use of muthi affected during her pregnancy affected the child’s health which might have led to the death of her 2-year-old son. Her husband Monde Shange slammed the comedian for the inappropriate statements.
Toll A$$ Mo has since issued a public apology for his comments, which he later deleted after Skhotheni refused to make peace. “I want to take a moment to apologize for my words sincerely. In the heat of the moment, I spoke without truly understanding the depth of pain that comes with losing a child,” he said. “I realise now how insensitive my words may have been, and I deeply regret any hurt I may have caused,” he wrote. “Loss is something no one should have to experience, and I can’t begin to imagine the pain of those who have. I take full accountability for my words, and I am truly sorry. Moving forward, I will be more mindful and considerate in my speech, ensuring that I lead with empathy and understanding. To anyone I may have hurt, please know it was never my intention. I appreciate the opportunity to learn and do better. It’s my 39th birthday, but I will not celebrate it until Skhotheni forgives me.”
Skhotheni rejected his apology, due to him mentioning her child. “No, I am sick and tired of people speaking ill about my late son and then apologizing when I retaliate,” she said. “You knew exactly what you said and what you meant. If you really are sorry, you should’ve apologized right after the interview or the following day niyijwayele lento yenu,” she wrote.“I won’t forgive you phumani ku boy wami, I am sure wherever he is he regrets being my son cause every month something bad is said about him. You are not sorry niks, you know what you said phuma kimi,” the DJ added.
Meanwhile, Skhotheni’s husband Monde Shange wrote a lengthy note where he slammed Tol A$$ Mo for being disrespectful to his wife and late son.
