She had left the world of broadcasting and went into politics as the spokesperson for the minister of sports, arts & culture Nathi Mthethwa. Broadcaster and musician Masechaba Ndlovu has returned as an anchor on Newzroom Afrika channel 405.

Masechaba said, viewers of the Weekend Report, at 6 am until 9 am on the channel can look forward to stories of transformation during the time of the elections. “The country needs me. South Africa needs my voice,” she said in an interview on the channel. “Over and above being a qualified journalist and my mother being a qualified journalist. This is second nature to me.” Masechaba said she is passionate about people and driven by the everyday South Africans and wants to serve the people.

Masechaba has worked at various broadcasters including the Sabc, and Metro FM, before joining arts and culture. “I am pleased to welcome Masechaba Ndlovu to the Department of sports, arts & culture as my newly appointed spokesperson. As a department we know that you will play an integral part in executing our motto of ‘laying the foundation for greatness,” former minister Mthethwa said at the time. “It is an honour and a privilege. I am ready to serve indeed,” she said.

She announced her departure from politics after three years after her appointment, saying it was an honour. “It has been an honour to serve in the government over the last three years,” she said. “I leave this space, excited to begin the next chapter of my career as I continue growing in my God-given purpose. Old energy is clearing, new energy is entering & great things are on the horizon.”
