Nickelodeon Africa adds 2020 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards winners Sho Madjozi, Jojo Siwa and Prev Reddy to the Nickelodeon Let’s Read!
A Mandela Day Special. The show will broadcast on NickToons (DStv channel 308) Saturday, 18 July at 11:30 CAT, 15:30 CAT and 20:30 CAT and on Sunday, 19 July at 07:40 CAT.
This follows a partnership announcement between the channel and the Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation in support of The Nelson Mandela Day where young authors, backed by the Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, will showcase excerpts of their published work during the fun and interactive Nickelodeon’s Let’s Read! Special. Featured on the show are talented young authors, Buhle Mthethwa (12 yrs old), Michelle Nkamankeng (11 yrs old), Ngcali Metu (11 yrs old), Prince Mashawana (8 yrs old) and Lelo Mofokeng (11 yrs old).
2020 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards Favourite Social Music Star, American dancer, singer, actress, and YouTube personality Jojo Siwa will share a special message of encouragement to kids should they be faced with bullying. 2020 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards Favourite African Star winner, Sho Madjozi will share a special music performance from her global hit song “John Cena”, while hilarious and 2020 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards Favourite African Social Media Star Prev Reddy aka Aunty Shamila takes science to another level with the slimy oobleck challenge.
Hosted by South African singer, actress and television presenter, Nandi Madida, the show aims to encourage a love for reading and writing amongst kids. Bothlale Boikanyo, a young poet and singer joins Madida to expand on key themes from the young author’s work and relate these themes to Mandela’s life story and lessons.
The special will focus on encouraging literacy amongst kids. It will include interactive arts and crafts tutorials, dance and music performances and a special “Wash your Hands” song using the popular Baby Shark song and character, who is now part of the Nickelodeon family.
