All Eyez On Me, 2017.
Directed by Benny Boom
Starring: Demetrius Shipp Jr., Danai Gurira, Kat Graham, Dominic L. Santana, Jamal Woolard and Annie Ilonzeh
All Eyez On Me is a biopic on the life, career and times of the late American rapper Tupac Amaru Shakur. It has been 21 years since the death of rap icon after he sustained injuries in a drive-by shooting  in Las Vegas.
Opinion:
With only a few minutes to tell the story of an influential black icon, the movie is rushed, leaving out very important facts. 2 pac is portrayed as a naive rapper with no “game plan” who gets tangled in Suge Knight’s business politics.
Demetrius Shipp Jr thoroughly researched 2 Pac’s gestures, movements, reactions and body language well. He showed a high level of commitment to the role however there was a great sense oxf passion lacking.
This production resembled a high-school quality play.
For those who did not know of had never heard of 2 Pac; there might have been er little to learn.
His influeence in the “ghetto” was hardly demonstrated and the film failed to capture his essence and his talent.
Calling this biopic “the untold story” is sensationalism of the highest degree as everything shown was known and there was no new information.
The good side of this is that many more black people’s stories are being told, captured and archived. Pac’s relationship with his mother was well illustrated.
Out of 5 stars, the biopic gets a 2.
