Two male suspects have been arrested for extorting money from a subcontracting company in Lwamondo village, in the Vuwani policing area, Limpopo.
On Friday, 13 February 2026, at approximately 11:00, members of the Provincial Organised Crime Unit received a complaint about four suspects who disrupted a construction project installing WiFi infrastructure.
The alleged suspects, driving a Toyota Hilux bakkie with Limpopo Province registration numbers, allegedly demanded a 30% share from the construction company, with the condition that failure to comply would result in the company stopping the installation.
The suspects were traced, found, and subsequently arrested. The motor vehicle they were driving was also seized as part of the ongoing investigation.
Both male suspects, aged 42 and 43, will appear before the Vuwani Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 16 February 2026, facing charges of extortion.
The remaining two suspects are still at large, and the investigation continues.
