South Africa is mourning the passing of Motsweding FM pastor and Bishop Daniel Matebesi.


His family confirmed his passing in a statement, and described his as a devoted servant of God whose life was marked by compassion, humility, and tireless dedication to guiding and supporting others. The family has respectfully requested privacy during this difficult period of mourning. Funeral arrangements, they said, will be communicated in due course.


Tributes have begun to pour in from congregants, fellow clergy, and community leaders, many recalling Bishop Matebesi as a unifying figure who promoted peace, moral leadership, and social responsibility. His influence extended beyond the pulpit, as he actively encouraged community development and spiritual growth.

“He was my beloved Bishop .Every Sunday morning I’m used n liked to listen to Motsweding because of ntate Matebesi.MHSRIP. I’ll miss his voice,” said Monare Mokoena.

“Ooh Rorisang is so painful this morning. Mookamedi Dube just broke my heart, he is in so much pain. Condolences to Team Rorisang. Rest in perfect peace Bishop Matebesi,” said Realeboga Osiame.

“Bishop my Bishop we will miss his voice. Rest in peace Bishop,” said Manyana Mananga.
