Una Rams releases “i do”, the second official single from his upcoming album, ‘meet me at the altar’.

Rooted in themes of love, joy, and cultural pride, the track captures the energy of a wedding day celebration; a heartfelt and uplifting moment that reflects Una Rams’ evolving sound and vision.

Born from a moment of creative redirection during an August 2024 writing camp in Fourways, “i do” wasn’t originally part of the plan but it became an essential piece of the upcoming album. What started as a frustrating session trying to finalise a different track turned into a breakthrough moment of musical magic. Una Rams brought together powerhouse collaborators Zadok, Stacey, Raven and Oriah, whose chemistry and energy in the room gave birth to something truly special, all in just 15 minutes.

From the first beat to the final chorus, “i do” radiates celebration. The song blends vibrant guitar riffs, a head-nodding drum pattern, and joyful vocals recorded in a spontaneous house sing-along that included everyone in the space. The energy was communal, authentic, and overflowing with love just the way Una Rams envisioned a wedding day should feel.

“There’s a line I love: ‘We’ve got all the love we need, we got friends and family, gathered happily.’ That’s exactly what we felt while making this track , like something sacred and joyful was being shared,” says Una Rams.

Inspired by the moments right before a wedding ceremony; the anticipation, the nerves, the joy, the pride “i do” paints a vivid picture of a cultural celebration full of warmth, music, and meaning. It’s a sonic hug, wrapped in South African sounds, traditions, and languages that make the song feel both personal and proudly local.

The catchy “Wena” section, contributed by Stacey mid-session, became a standout part of the track it was uplifting and instantly memorable. And having J’Something feature on the track adds a special full-circle moment to the release, connecting generations of South African musical talent.

“This song reminds me of the sun rising on a perfect day,” Una adds. “It’s that moment when everyone forgets their worries, gets on the dancefloor, and just enjoys being present.”

“i do” is more than a song; it’s a mood, a memory in the making, and a love letter to South African culture, joy, and community.
