Tik Toker, vlogger, and influencer Thuli Dlamuka shared her experience of how she escaped death when she and a friend were kidnapped by the two alleged “romance robbers” Philangenkosi Makhanya, and Bongani Mthimkhulu. The two men robbed and killed Olorato Mongale (30) before dumping her on the side of the road. Her body was discovered near Lombardy West, north of Joburg, after going on a date with her alleged killer. “These two guys kidnapped and mugged me and a friend late year May, right after I got my car,” she said. “I never spoke up because I was scared for my life. Now that one is dead, I’m sure the rest will follow, said Dlamuka.

The influencer said she has not recovered from the incident, especially from Philasande Makhanya who was killed during a shootout with police after they cornered him. “The dead one hit me like he was hitting a punching bag.” She says he threatened to kill her and her family. “I was behind the driver when it happened, so I got hit more and I replay that incident at least three times a month. I’m just saddened by the fact that I was in the same situation as Olorato but unfortunately, she didn’t make it,” Thuli said. “I know how they make you feel, so I think I know the feeling she went through too. May her precious soul rest in peace. They must go to hell.” She said they forced her to cut her hair. “The murderer made me cut my hair. It was so damaged ngoba wayezihlephula by pulling me by the hair the whole ride, which was over two hours. They threw us in a ditch afterward. I knew it in me that their day will come and really I’m here for it. May Olo’s spirit continue to fight.”

Thuli shared an affidavit where she had opened a case with the police that she was kidnapped at gunpoint. “I begged for my life. I apologised ngingenzanga lutho. They took everything. Everything is coming back and my emotions are truly all over the place. I’m not okay. They broke me. Slept in my mom’s bed for over a month.” She added that she is still paranoid about the incident. Another woman on social media came forward to say she was also kidnapped by the same men 11 months ago. “Seeing their faces is making me relive that whole day all over again. I really thought was okay after the case was closed.”
